Baby Shower Extravaganza Giveaway #14: Your Baby Can Read CLOSED

"Your Baby Can Read!TM System Brings Worldwide
Change to Childhood Literacy Field"

The first time I saw the Your Baby Can Read commercial was when I was home on maternity leave.  I was bound and determined to get it, I was sure it would work and I would have the smartest baby around.  My husband of course made fun of me but my dad's wife thought it was great also and promised to get it for Wiggle Bean for Christmas (so I didn't buy it myself).

Well Christmas came and they changed their mind and got Wiggle a Disney Princess 4-wheeler instead.  While she loves her power bike, I was a little bummed that she did not get the Your Baby Can Read program.

When I was offered the chance to review the YBCR starter set, I jumped on it.  The starter set would be perfect for my 14 month old and when it works (and she shows how much of a genius she is) hubby will have no choice but to get us the deluxe set!

About Your Baby Can Read
Developed by Dr. Robert Titzer, a recognized expert in infant learning, the YBCR program had been used by thousands of parents to expose their children to reading skills early in life.  Research shows that introducing basic reading during the first years of life makes the process of learning to read faster, easier, more exciting, and interesting for the child.  According to the Center on the Developing Child at Harvard University, "earlier experiences determine whether a child's developing brain architecture provides a strong or weak foundation for all future learning, behavior, and health".

More brain connections for language and higher cognitive functions are formed during infancy than any other time in a person's life.  Numerous studies have proven that early readers have more confidence, higher self-esteem and generally perform better in school and later in life.

Your Baby Can Read was recently named one of the ten best Educational toys of 2009 by Dr Toy.  The program also received three iParenting Media Awards for their My First Words books, Lift-A-Flap Word and Picture Books, and the Deluxe Kit.

I have only had the starter kit for two weeks so I can not say that I have seen any noticeable reading skills with Wiggle yet but I am going to keep at it and see how it goes.  I am excited by reviews that I have read where people say how it worked for them.

Where to Buy

The Your Baby Can Read Deluxe set is available direct from the Your Baby Can Read website.

Your Baby Can Read states that there's a window of opportunity in which a child's brain develops more cognitive learning. I'd love to win this for my nine month old daughter.

I would be buying this for my almost 4 year old to help her along a bit and my almost 2 year old son.

I learned that Dr. Titzer says the current practice of starting to teach reading skills in school is too late and children benefit greatly from getting a much earlier start since a child basically has only one natural window for learning language--from about birth to about age four. I would give the system to my friend who has a 4 year old child.
