For My Children
A Mother's Journal of Memories, Wishes, and Wisdom
Both my mother and my husband's mother are always telling me that I need to keep a journal and write down things about my daughter. I can tell countless stories about her antics and shenanigans, funny things she did or said but when it came down to sharing my thoughts, ideas and who I am as her mom I always drew a blank.
For My Children: A Mother's Journal of Memories, Wishes and Wisdom by Dionna Ford is beautifully designed and illustrated. Each page contains creative prompts on what to write and helps jump start your memory through fill-in-the-blank lists, questions, and queries.
There are seven distinct sections with over 150 prompts. The sections include:
- Motherhood
- Family and Home
- Children
- Life Wisdom and Wishes
- Love and Relationships
- You In The World
- On Being You
What is some of the craziest parenting advise you ever received?
What are your favorite family recipes?
In what ways are your children like you?
If life had a rewind button, what moments would you want to relive?
are perfect for getting the creative juices flowing and guiding you towards ideas of what to write that you might not have thought of on your own.

Final Thoughts
Overall this is a wonderful book that will help any mother to journal her life for her child. It has been a great toll for me and I am sure my daughter will love reading all my writings when the time comes.
It makes the perfect gift for mothers and grandmothers.
