Reading is Fun!
We started a reading routine early on and it seems to have developed into a love of reading for not only my daughter but for myself as well. Our reading time is very important and special to us.
Right now my daughter is going through a phase where she wants to be independent and do everything herself and our reading time is no different. She loves to "read" to her daddy and me. She starts off all of her stories with "Once Upon a Time" (it is sooooo cute!) Then she tells the story based on what she sees in the pictures or what she remembers from times that I have read the books to her. It is actually pretty amazing how much she remembers. Sometimes when she does not know what to say, she makes up her own words (which oddly sounds a lot like the minions from Despicable Me, her favorite movie).
