As my husband and my friends can attest, I do not make the best choices in the selection of my footwear.  I have always been more of a fashion over function type of gal when it came to shoes.  I usually choose high heels over flats to make up for my lack of height and willingly sacrificed my foot comfort. 

I recently started a new job where it is a requirement of all employees to wear stark white tennis shoes (I know, how boring!!). They also specify the brand and model of the shoe.  You might be thinking, how much walking does one do in a normal office type job.  Well the answer to that is ALOT, especially since the building I work in (one of many!) is 535,000-square-feet.  Yep, you read that right over 1/2 a million square feet in one building.  Granted I do not walk all of that since most of it is production space but I get in my fair share of walking around to get to all the management personnel I need to work with.

As anyone that has shopped for tennis shoes can confirm, the same pair of shoes will fit everyone differently.  I have a need for a higher arch than other people I know and if I wear certain types of tennis shoes, it causes me pain in my shins, knee and lower back.

I have used orthotics before, I had some hard plastic thing I put in my dress shoes that was supposed to help me with knee and back pain but I never noticed much relief.  I mostly wore them to placate my husband as a compromise for my shoe selections (he is all about function over fashion, as are most guys!)

I have been wearing my Dr. Scholl's custom fit orthotics for about two weeks now and have noticed that my feet are considerable less tired at the end of each day.  I can not speak to any clinical improvement to knee or back problems but I can say that I have not had as much regular knee pain as I normally have.

My Baby Clothes Boutique

My Baby Clothes Boutique is my newest favorite online clothing boutique for my daughter.  They carry unique and affordable boutique quality clothes for both boys and girls.

I love to shop and I am striving to instill my love of shopping for clothes, shoes and accessories on my young daughter.  Luckily for me, I do not have to "force" shopping for clothes on her, she LOVES shopping and LOVES accessorizing and wearing adorable outfits.

She has so much fun picking out outfits to wear to family functions.  The family loves to see what she is going to dream up next with her mix of clothes, shoes and accessories.  She hates to disappoint them so we always try to look our cutest.

My Baby Clothes Boutique celebrates the uniqueness of all children! Carrying unique baby clothes to show off each child’s personality.   They have an adorable line of tutus, tutu dresses, and pettiskirts.  My daughter has her eye on the ever so adorable Mud Pie Purple Baby Buds Tutu Dress.

Right now my fashion forward daughter is on a shoe/boot and hat kick.  My daughter definitely inherited my love of shoes (whit a little help from me!), she had 15 pairs of shoes before she was even born and that number has only increased.   She only has a few baby hats but she loves wearing them.  I am sure if she saw all the adorable baby hats at My Baby Clothes Boutique, she would go crazy and my credit card would be in danger! (she already likes to "pay" with it when we go shopping).  I am completely in love with the Hot Pink Sunhat with Vintage White Rose. 

When not wearing her hats, my daughter dips into her vast collection (thanks Aunt Stacy!!!!) of hair bow, barrettes and headbands.  She has so many clips I had to make a special holder and she has a box full of dozens of headbands.  Baby headbands are some of her favorite accessories (along with any one of her 6 purses).

Since my daughter and I both love dressing her in adorable clothes, we were thrilled when My Baby Clothes Boutique gave us the opportunity to review one of their gorgeous and unique outfits.  We perused their vast site for days trying to pick just the right outfit.  We finally selected the beautiful Bonnie Jean Polka Dot Capri Set.  Trust me it was hard to only select one outfit, there are so many that we wanted.  Their prices are so reasonable, especially for boutique clothing.

Dorel Asia Recalls to Repair Bunk Beds Due to Collapse and Fall Hazards

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Health Canada, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.

Name of Product: Wooden bunk beds

Units: About 445,000 in the United States and 21,700 in Canada

Manufacturer: Dorel Asia SRL, of Barbados

Hazard: The wooden side rails that run from the headboard to the footboard and hold the bunk bed’s mattress in place can split and cause the bunk bed to collapse, posing a fall hazard to consumers.

Incidents/Injuries: CPSC and Dorel Asia have received 23 reports of the side rails cracking or breaking, including seven reports of minor bruises or abrasions.

Description: The model number, date of manufacture, “Made in Vietnam” and the firm’s phone number are printed on a white label located on one of the bunk bed rails. Some of the labels include the name “Dorel Asia SRL.” Only the following models, colors and manufacturing date ranges are included in this recall to repair:
