 As a new mother, I was bound and determined to only give my daughter the best.  I was going to feed her organic foods where ever possible (no matter the cost) and she was not even going to know what Juice was.  

Whenever I took her anywhere they would offer her juice and then look at me like I was from another planet when I told them she did not drink juice.

Wiggle Bean is just over 13 months and I can not for the life of me get her to drink cold milk.  She will drink cold water, juice and smoothies but give her cold milk and she will shun it entirely.  This is really inconvenient when we are on the go and not near her bottle warmer or have access to hot water.  The On The Fly Bottle Warmer is just what we need.   It is great for those days where we are running errands for hours and perfect air travel. 

The On The Fly Warmer does not heat your milk or water up instantaneously, it can take up to 30 minutes for the warmer to reach its maximum temperature.   It will maintain or warm bottle to temperature between 90° F to 104° F and will provide constant heat for up to 8 hours.  This works great for on the go, just put the warmer on the bottle and toss it in your diaper bag.  It should be ready by the time baby is hungry.

During my test, I put 6oz of tap water into a plastic bottle.  I wrapped it in the super cute, cow print, bottle sock and put the warmer on.  After about 30 minutes, the water did not feel much warmer but after an hour, the water was just the temperature that Bean likes.

On The Fly was recently awarded the 2010Seal of Approval from the National Parenting Center.  They are also members of the Green Business Association.  In 2009 they received the Mom's Best Award.

Baby Shower Extravaganza Review: Party Box Design

How adorable are these?  We received the Mustard Crown booties and Sherpa fleece linerz.

Living in the Pacific Northwest, I know Lisa's pain of finding appropriate footwear, especially now that Wiggle Bean is up and running walking around.  The non-skid bottom is a must with Wiggle, we have tile and hardwood floors all over the house.  Of course it was 60 and sunny this weekend so I could not take her picture out in the rain.  I intentionally ordered them a little large so that she could wear them with or without shoes and the linerz (which are so soft and snugly!), you just cinch them up around the ankle and calf and you are good to go.  With their generous size, she should be able to wear these for some time. 

While they are not waterproof, the coated nylon exterior fabric makes them rain repellent and wind resistant. If your feet get wet, just turn the booties inside out, toss them in the dryer and in a few minutes you are good to go!  Both the linerz and the booties are machine washable, that is a plus!

Over Thirty Mommy's Thoughts

I'm always excited to try new baby skin care products, especially when they are organic.   Wiggle Bean loves the water, she loves to splash and play in both the bath tub and shower.  So when the opportunity came up to try an Organic Bubble Bath, I was excited.  I am very careful with what products I use on Wiggle.  Baby skin is five times more absorbent than adult skin so all the chemicals that are in your products soak right into their little bodies.

The Ah-Choo chest rub could not have arrived at a better time.  Wiggle has been teething her first set of molars and she gets extremely congested for about a week before each tooth breaks the surface.  She has been having some difficulty breathing while sleeping and it was causing her to wake up more often during the night.  The Ah-Choo rub helped open up her sinuses and allowed her to sleep a little better.  One night I told her it was bed time and she ran over and grabbed the container of Ah-Choo rub and handed it to me.

After I received the products from Nature's Baby Organics, I checked the Cosmetics Database to see how Nature's Baby Organics rated and was amazed that the Tangy Tangerine Bubble Bath came in at an amazingly low 1 and the Ah-Choo Rub was a shocking 0.  I was impressed with how well the Nature's Baby Organics products rated.

Over Thirty Mommy's Thoughts 
I originally thought that I would make all of Wiggle Beans food for her (what was I thinking!).  While I was able to make some for her, I just did not have the capability to do it all with out having to purchase store bought baby food.  Feeding my daughter organic food is very important to me and my husband.  We do not want her eating all the chemicals and pesticides that goes onto food.   The Petite Palate foods are a great way to feed her fresh organic meals when I can not fix them myself.  We just put the flavor of choice in the fridge the day before and it was ready to eat for dinner.  Bean's favorite flavor was Banana Peach Blend.  She usually gets bored with one food before is it gone but with this one she eat the entire container.  I did sneak a taste and it was so delicious. It tasted like freshly pureed bananas and peaches, fancy that since the entire ingredient list consisted of Organic Bananas, Organic Peaches and Organic Ginger Root.  Sure they are a little more expensive than a jar of food at the store (between $2.04 and $3.48 per 4oz container) but the quality of the ingredients and food make it worth the extra cost.

About the Soft Bib

The Soft bib has a large pocket to catch all your little one's spills and is ergonomically designed to fit their shape.  The bib has an adjustable neck closure that you can adjust to fit your child perfectly.  The soft bib wipes down easily and can be put in the dishwasher (recommended top shelf only).  The soft bib comes in 5 fun colors blue, green, yellow, red and pink.

Over Thirty Mommy's Thoughts

Wiggle Bean received the pink soft bib.  It was a little different from what we were used to but it worked out really well.  Bean is a MESSY eater and always ends up with a lap full of food.  The soft bib does a great job of catching all of her overflow.  It was a little different for her at first because it is more formed than a regular bib and would bump the table when she reached for things but after the first couple times she learned to adjust her movements to accommodate for the bib in front of her.

Changing the Nursery Theme (Bonus entry opportuinty!)

I love the tropics, Jamaica especially.  My husband and I have visited there a couple times and I knew that when I found out I was pregnant, it would be a few years before we made it back again.  For this reason (and because I love the bright colors) we decorated Wiggle Bean's nursery with a tropical theme.

Now that Wiggle is gaining her own personality, I am thinking of changing her nursery theme.  I was looking at some of the kids bedding at All Children's Furniture and I am totally in love with the Pam Grace Creations Ladybug Lucy Bedding Set.

Look how adorable that is!!!  It totally fits her personality and she seems very drawn to all things ladybug.  We have a Ladybug Pillow Pet and she loves to carry him around and then do belly flops on to him.  Her birthday party was Ladybug themed so it only seems fitting to have her room be ladybug themed, right?

Children's Fork and Spoon Sets Recalled by Peachtree Playthings Due to Choking Hazard; Sold at Dollar Tree and Deals

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.

Name of Product: Scooby Doo, Tweety and Batman Fork and Spoon Sets

Units: About 127,000

Manufacturer: Peachtree Playthings, of Atlanta, Ga.

Hazard: The middle two prongs of the plastic fork can detach, posing a choking hazard to children.

Incidents/Injuries: Peachtree Playthings has received one report of a middle prong detaching from the fork. No injuries have been reported.

Description: This recall involves the Scooby Doo, Tweety and Batman plastic fork and spoon sets. The two-piece set is white plastic with cartoon images on the handle.

Sold at: Dollar Tree Stores and Deals during January 2010 for about $1 per set.

Manufactured in: China

Remedy: Consumers should immediately take the recalled fork and spoon sets away from children and return them to Dollar Tree or Deals for a full refund.

Over Thirty Mommy's Thoughts

I am sure that I should have started letting Wiggle Bean feed herself sooner but I still like to feel needed (and she is really messy!).  She can eat solid foods on her own (provided they are not too messy) but I usually do not let or have her feed herself pureed foods.  When I saw the Peter Rabbit Fruit pouches I was not sure how they would go over.  Would she get the hang of a squeeze pouch or would it end up all over my carpet.  So being the responsible parent, I tossed one into the diaper bag when we went to the tax accountants office.  The appointment was running into her normal lunch time so I opened the Strawberry and Banana pouch (thought I would let her try the red one on their carpet) and handed it to her.  I held it for her for a second then she took it from me and wanted to do it herself.  It was amazing, she had that pouch sucked down in no time at all.   She LOVED them.  I took a tiny taste (that was all she left) and it was delicious.
