Products
Our line of products include:
AROMATHERAPEUTIC: geared towards personal health and to aid in healing common ailments.
MOTHER & CHILD: developed for mothers and their children, to aid with both pre and post childbirth.
SKIN CAREdesigned to nourish, pamper and soothe your skin with all natural oils and herbs.
CUSTOM FORMULAS: these are made to target specific symptoms and ailments.
(Note that products can be customized, as they are made as ordered, to suit your needs, ie. allergies to an oil.)

I am always on the look out for natural products for my daughter to use in place of traditional medicines.  When I was given the opportunity to try a few products from Aromatic Health, I was overjoyed.

Children's cold and flu.: Children's Cold & 'Flu is a milder version of the Cold & Sinus blend, formulated especially for children over the age of 1 year. These essential oils aid with congestion, aid in recovery and help prevent infection when used at the first signs of a cold or 'flu. They have anti-viral, anti-microbial and expectorant properties. (taken form website)

We selected this product because I do not like giving Wiggle Bean traditional medications unless it is our last resort. (don't get me wrong, if she needs medication, she will get it).  She also seems to get really bad congestion when she is teething and a couple weeks ago she decided to cut all 4 of her incisors at the same time so she was extremely congested.  This product worked wonders for opening up her sinuses.  We simply put a few drops in her bath before bed and she was able to breath easier while sleeping.

HeadBalm: This safe alternative to conventional pain relievers contains a soothing blend of essential oils known to relieve headaches and migraines. Peppermint has an analgesic effect, lavender relaxes tension and chamomile has anti-inflammatory properties. Both lavender and chamomile also have sedative properties. (taken form website)

This was one of my top selections because much like my not wanting to give Wiggle medications, I am not a fan of taking pain relievers unless I can not find another alternative.  It has a wonderful scent that helps relax you.  I found that I was inhaling more deeply to take in more of the peppermint scent.  I did not get to really test it out much because my headaches (woo hoo!) were at a minimum during the testing period but I did find it to be relaxing and calming.

Hemp Bum Butter: Your best defence against diaper rash! Our Hemp Bum Butter diaper ointment contains natural oils, including calendula, and beeswax which provides a natural barrier, protecting the skin. A great ointment to use with cloth diapers. It also aids in the healing of cuts, scrapes and skin irritations. (taken form website)

This product was not tested by us, it was given away to the mother-to-be at the live shower that marked the end the big Baby Shower Extravaganza that I held in March.  She just had a new baby rwo weeks ago so I assume this will become a favorite of her's soon.

They make adorable jammies and cute play clothes (and they are SPF 30!).  They are so soft! She never wants to take them off, I might have to get a few more sets!

Review and Giveaway: Little Duck Organics CLOSED

My husband and I are very careful what our little Wiggle Bean eats.  We work hard to feed her organic food and snacks when ever possible.  For her main courses, we have found a number of great organic food companies that offer great meal and side options but  we felt we were lacking in tasty and nutritious organic snacks for Wiggle.  That was until we found Little Duck Organics.

Little Duck Organics Freeze Dried fruits are the perfect healthy snack for our little one.  Each pouch contains 100% organic fruit and four full servings of fruit.  Little Duck Organics fruits are available in  3 flavors combinations Apple/Banana, Strawberry/Mango and Blueberry/Apple.  Wiggle loved all three flavors with her favorite being the Strawberry Mango (she has a thing for mangoes lately).

I tried each flavor (what I could sneak away from her) also and the are really good.  I love that they are organic, easy to take with you on the go, and that they contain no preservatives, added sugars, or artificial ingredients.

I do suggest that you keep an eye on your little one when he/she is eating the yummy blueberry flavor.  I gave Wiggle a handful and found blue stains all over her face, clothes and a little blue hand print on the wall.   Other than that, we found nothing about the Little Duck Organic fruits that we did not like.

Where to Buy
Little Duck Organics are available nationwide at amazon.com and from their own site or you can check their online store locator to see if they are sold at a store near you.

WIN IT! Little Duck Organics is offering one Over Thirty Mommy reader the chance to win all 3 flavors. 3 packs of organic snacks.

Review and Giveaway: Dr. Susanna's World Baby Foods CLOSED

World Baby Foods is a line of organic, multicultural baby foods based on cuisines from around the world.  World Baby Foods focus is on providing superior nutrition, supporting organic agriculture and helping infants develop their sense of taste.

Made from premium organic ingredients, each recipe combine a variety of ingredients designed to include rich protein sources.  World Baby Foods come in 6 flavor destinations (some might sound odd but they were all surprisingly well liked by Wiggle Bean).  Each recipes is crafted to showcase the flavors and foods from cultures around the world.   World Baby Foods are designed for babies that are eating stage 2 foods, typically 6-7 months of age.

Not surprisingly, she loved Sweetie Tahiti, a Polynesian-inspired combination of coconuts, banana, and jasmine rice.  Another one of her favorites was the Baby Borscht which contained beets, carrots, potatoes, spinach, and a touch of dill. This is the one that surprised me the most, she had never had beets before and I was not sure that she would like them but she could not get enough and ate the entire jar.  We tried all 6 flavors and she seemed to like them all.  I have to admit, they were not all to my taste preference but that is likely because I was never introduced to multicultural foods growing up.  I hope by having Wiggle experience foods for various cultures, she will develop a taste for many foods and will not be one of those picky eaters.

Where to Buy
World Baby Foods foods are available in select Whole Foods, Haggen Foods and a few other stores on the West Coast well as from Amazon.com.

WIN IT!
Three Over Thirty Mommy readers will win a world pack of World Baby Foods.

How to Enter: Mandatory
visit World Baby Foods and email them a photo of your child or grandchild (please gain permission from parent) along with a few words about their favorite baby eating experience.  Please also mention that you are entering from Over Thirty Mommy.

Limitations:

Giveaway ends midnight PST on Saturday 5/15

Review and Giveaway: Tastybaby Frozen Organic Purees CLOSED

Tastybaby frozen purees are blast frozen to preserve vitamins, enzymes and nutrients.

About Tastybaby® Organic Purées
(taken from sponsor site)
Tastybaby® is widely recognized as one of the most innovative brands in the specialty baby-food
market due to its state-of-the-art blast-freezing technology and its departure from the traditional,
highly processed, jarred foods, which previously dominated the baby food category. The Company’s
original, 10-item line of 100 percent Organic Frozen Baby Food was designed for three stages of
infant development. This line is minimally processed and contains no additives, preservatives or
stabilizers. It’s also free of gluten, GMOs, added salt, added sugar, and citric or ascorbic acid.

Environmentally Friendly
Tasty Brand, Inc. uses the most eco-friendly packaging available.  The Company also  supports
Sustainable Agriculture, Fair Trade practices, and multiple non-profit organizations.

Over Thirty Mommy's ThoughtsWe had a difficult time locating the foods at our local stores but were finally able to find the organic frozen purees after visiting 4 stores.  We never did find the fruit snacks that I was most excited to try.   Even though Wiggle Bean is 15 months, we got the Hip 2B Pear and Life's A Peach flavors from the stage one group and the Bangos from stage two.  Bean likes fruit pouches so I knew she would love these purees and I was not wrong.  Bean is currently cutting her incisors and likes to have cold foods to sooth her gums.  I used a fork and "shaved" off some of the frozen puree and put it into her Fresh Food Feeder.  She loved it, emptying the feeder it in no time, and was asking for more.  It was basically a banana mango Popsicle (with out all the bad sugars!), and it helped her through the pain of teething.  She is still working on mastering her utensils (messy process) but likes trying to scoop the puree from the little container, occasionally she gives up on the spoon all together and just slurps it straight from the dish (really need to work on those manners but it is so cute).

I really like that they are organic and have minimal ingredients. The entire ingredient list for Bangos consisted of organic banana, organic mango, water and organic vanilla.  It couldn't be simpler than that.  Man to they taste good!  I sampled a little (just being a good mom and trying it out for her) and wow YUM.  I debated eating the rest of the container but she gave me that little smile and I knew I had to save it for her.

Would I buy them again?  Absolutely!  I will continue to search for the fruit snacks but will definitely be buying the frozen purees again (ans soon if she keeps going thought them like water!)

Where to Buy
Tastybaby foods are available at select Whole Foods and Super Target stores across the country as well as from Amazon.com and many other retailers.  They have a  locator tool on their website to help you find the store nearest you.

Review: Baby Mum-Mums Organic Rice Rusks

Hot Kid's Organic Baby Mum-Mums are a favorite snack of our little Wiggle Bean.  They make a great snack on the go, before bed or any time.

Baby Mum-Mums are perfect for teething and are specially designed to dissolve easily. Organic Baby Mum-Mum's are crispy rice rusks that are lightly sweetened (less than 1g per serving).  Baby Mum-Mum's contain no artificial colors or flavors; no preservatives; gluten-free; wheat, egg and peanut free.  Baby Mum-Mum's come in original, vegetable and Organic Original varieties.   You can also get Toddler Mum-Mum's in organic original and organic strawberry. They are packaged in easy to grab packets containing two rusks.

Hot Kid's Organic Mum-Mum is made from Japonica Rice, Sugar, Skim Milk Powder, Salt and are USDA certified organic.  They are a great alternative for standard teething biscuits, especially for those babies that have allergies to wheat or gluten.

Wiggle Bean can not get enough of them, she runs around cheering Mum-mum when she sees the package.  I feel good about giving them to her since they are not packed full of sugar.

Baby Mum-Mu also has a blog.  The Baby Mum-Mum blog discusses everything to do with babies and parenting with a focus on child health and child development.  They recently posted an interesting article on teething, I found it interesting because Bean started cutting her incisors this weekend (I though I had a few more months)

Where to Buy:
Baby Mum-Mum can be found at many large retailers such as Fredmeyer, Wal-Mart, Babies"R"Us, and Amazon.com.

**Disclaimer: I was not paid in any form of cash for this posting.  I received case of Organic Baby Mum-Mums for the purpose of my reviewThis is solely the opinion of Over Thirty Mommy. Other people may have different experiences with the product.**

2010 Ultimate Blog Party Time!!

Ultimate Blog Party 2010

I'm so excited to be joining 5 Minutes for Mom's Ultimate Blog Party .  This is my first experience with the Ultimate Blog Party, so if I do this wrong, please forgive me!

For those not familiar with the Ultimate Blog party, it is a great way to meet new friends, find new blogs to follow and win super prizes!

A special hello to all my regular readers and welcome to any new readers!  For those of you that are new to Over Thirty Mommy, I am a new recent first time mom that waited until I was "older" to have my first (and probably only) child.  I blog about my life with Wiggle Bean and how I struggle to balance life as a mom, wife and work outside of the home.  I regularly review and giveaway products that are family friendly and help make life as a parent a little easier.

Wiggle Bean (not her real name!) was born in January 2009 and is one of the best things that has happened to me. I know all moms say that but she is so great (a little bit of a wild one, but still great).  She still has that little bear and will not go to bed without it, I tried to swap it out for a different one and she wanted nothing to do with it (man I hope we never lose him because I checked and he is discontinued.  Someone actually wanted $40 for it on Ebay)

Bean is now 15 months and keeps me on my toes 24/7!  Mom mom says she is a miniature me, oh great now I am in trouble!  I remember how I was as a teenager and if my mom knew the half of it she would have had a heart attack!

See that "What?, It wasn't me/I didn't do it" look?  Yep, I patented that! right along with the "look how innocent and cute I am" look pictured below.

Choc-O-Holic! At least she got something good from me!Hopefully she will also get my passion for shoes and purses! Wait maybe not!

Back to the reason you are here, the Ultimate Blog Party!!!Bloggers and non-bloggers are all welcome to participate and enter to win a number of really great prizes with the grand prize (which I would LOVE to win!!!) being a Toshiba Satellite L505D-ES5025

There’s so many other awesome prizes!  As my top four (hard to pick just 4 out of such a great list), I selected:

Review and Giveaway: Happy Baby Organic Foods CLOSED

During the Baby Shower Extravaganza, I introduced you the the Happy Baby Organic Guide to Baby's First 24 Months. Along with this great guide, Happy Baby also had a full line of fantastic organic foods for babies and toddlers.

I attempted to make all of Wiggle Bean's early foods from the organic produce that we have delivered to us semimonthly.  I would make big batches and freeze them in ice cube trays for future use.  This was great in theory but not always convenient when I was on the go or for packing her lunch for daycare.

It is very important to my husband and myself to feed Wiggle organic food wherever possible.  We feel that the levels of hormones and pesticides in the food sources now are too high for their tiny bodies.

HAPPYBELLIES Brown Rice Cereal Contains DHA and Probiotics, Organic, 7-Ounce Canisters (Pack of 6)
Happybellies Organic Cereals: The Happybellies cereals are enriched with DHA for eye and brain development, plus iron, vitamins and minerals essential to baby's health.  They also incorporate the power of probiotics to help strengthen your baby's digestive system which can protect against the development of allergies The cereals come in three varieties (all certified organic) Brown Rice, Multi-grain, and oatmeal.

We tried the Organic Oatmeal Cereal and Bean really liked it.  We added a little pureed fruit for added flavor since Wiggle is a little older.  She loved it!

Happy Family Happy Baby - Stage 3: Gobble Gobble and Paradise Puree, 12-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 6)
HAPPYBABY frozen meals: Happy Baby frozen meals are the next best thing to homemadeWith 12 individually frozen cubes in each package, there is no waste and since the cubes can be popped out of the packaging, there is no need to heat in plastic (no BPA).  They come in 8 different packages of 15 delicious varieties, I was not fortunate enough to locate any of the meat options like turkey, salmon or chicken.  We did try the Yes Peas + Thank you Carrots  and the Baby Dhal + Mama Grain.  Both were liked with the Mama Grain being very well received.

Happy Family Happy Bites - Mac & Cheese, 8-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 6)Happybites: Happybites are nutritionally balanced meals for your toddlers and young children.  They come in great options like Salmon Sticks, Mac+Cheese, Fish Bites, Veggie Tots, Chicken Bites, and Breakfast Pockets.  What is even better is that they are packed with hidden veggies in every bite (great for those picky eaters!)  Wiggle is a Mac+Cheese fiend and eats it up any chance I let her but she also really liked the Fish Bites and Salmon Sticks.

HAPPYBABY Organic Puffs, Greens Puffs, 2.1-Ounce Packages (Pack of 6)
HappyPuffs: Wiggle has been a lover of puffs since she started foods.  They make a great snack and are perfect for on the go in the car or diaper bag.  I was so excited to see that Happy Baby had an organic option for us.  HappyPuffs are made from whole grains, come in three organic flavors (Banana, Greens and Apple) and are supplemented with vitamins and minerals.  While their packaging looks the same size as their competitors, they actually come in green packaging that allows them to offer 40% more in each container, while passing savings on to their customers.

Happy Melts Organic Yogurt Snacks - Strawberry
HappyMelts: Happymelts are the only organic freeze dried yogurt snack on the market and the only baby food with prebiotics and probiotics! Made from organic yogurt and fruit, Happymelts make a healthy, protein rich and low-sugar, snack for your little ones (and you!)  Happymelts are available in Banana Mango, Strawberry, and Mixed Berry flavors.  They are gluten free and contain no Preservatives.   Wiggle Bean could not get enough of these and they are a great way to get her to have yogurt with out worrying about it ending up splattered on me and my floor!

Over Thirty Mommy's Thoughts:
We have been a Happy Baby family for some time now.  Bean seems really happy with all the different foods that we have tried and we are happy that they are organic.  I have to get more of the Mac+Cheese patties, they are so much easier (and less messy!) that regular Mac+cheese and they are packed with veggies.  I am looking forward to trying the HappyTot pouches out when they come back to my local stores.

Giving back
Happy Baby not only makes tasty organic foods for your babies but they also do their part and give back. For every package you buy, they work with Project Peanut Butter—a non-profit that provides food for starving children in Malawi—to feed one child for one day!

Back and Ready for More Fun

I took short blog break but I am back now and ready to start the fun again.  Thank you to the all wonderful sponsors and  my loyal readers for making my first blog event a big hit.

I started Over Thirty Mommy last July as a way to vent about being a new "older" mom.  I love writing about Wiggle Bean and all of her accomplishments and shenanigans.  The natural course of the blog world led me to writing reviews and hosting giveaways for some really great products that are related to families and children.

With one sister having just had a new little boy and the other being due in two weeks (or less), it seemed like a great idea to throw a Baby Shower Extravaganza event to coincide with the actual baby shower for her.  I was amazed how busy things got and how many wonderful sponsors would be so excited to join in the fun.

Over a two week period, I posted reviews about 25 great products and hosted 20+ giveaways.  It was much harder and more time consuming than I ever imagined.  I have gained so much respect for those bloggers that host these types of events on a regular basis and totally understand why they team with other blogs and work together for these events.

I was exahusted after the last post went up on the 20th and other than promoting and announcing willers for the giveaways, I took a short blog break.  I want to apoligize for the break in posts and for the lack of personal posts lately.  I hope to balance the number of family posts with review posts in the future.

Now that I am refreshed and revived, I have some great posts coming up regarding organic baby/toddler foods but will not forget to post family stories for those readers that enjoy them. The things Wiggle Bean is up to these days will crack you up.  She is so literal and she at only 14 1/2 months old.

Stay tuned, there are more great things to come at Over Thirty Mommy!
